Interestingly enough, the actual tales that comprise 1001 Nights are incredibly diverse in nature. For instance, Aladdin was originally written as a young Chinese boy!
With such wonderful diversity at the heart of the story, it hardened my resolve to be as accurate as possible when depicting my chosen tale: the saga of Scheherazade and how she staved off her impending death by weaving stories under lamplight for a murderous king.
